Stars in Jars Recap, Radio & UIL State Results

Hello!  Sorry we haven’t sent out an update lately.  Miriam has been very busy!!  She has three days left of her junior year and so it’s finals week. She will be performing this Friday, June 3 at Brookshire Brothers in Canyon Lake from 6pm-9pm.  If you can, please come out!

Then she will be taking 10 days to explore France and Spain before coming home to head into the recording studio for much of the summer.  She raised a lot of the money needed for the recording time during her Stars In Jars Fundraiser event.  The show was so much fun and so many people helped. We cannot thank you enough!  We’ve put together a video that highlights the event so even if you could not make the show, you can see some of the results!  Thank you to all those who participated and showed their support.  The video is about 15 minutes and we would love to hear what you think:

We again wanted to especially thank RK & Priscilla Seals; Mike & Mary Pat Jordan; Thomas Morrow; Sharon, Alicia and John Paparo; Doug & Makayla Williams; Julia Smith; and Miriam’s fellow performers: Jensen Collie, Kody Parker & Jeremiah Jordan!!

Some of you may or may not know.  But during the promotion of the Stars in Jars Fundraiser, Miriam did her first radio interview!  Duanne Redus hosted Miriam on her Wimberley Valley Radio show, Voices of Our Hearts.  We wanted to say thank you again to Duanne & Jessica for making Miriam feel so comfortable and for helping to promote the event!  You can listen to the show here:

Miriam travelled to Pflugerville, TX on Memorial Day to compete at the State UIL solo competition.    Over 3 days, 24,000 students competed!  This is the largest competition of its kind in the country.  Students are given an individual rating 1-5 with 1 being the highest.  The judge actually made Miriam sing part of her song over again as she was instructing her how to improve her performance for next year.  We had a two hour wait to find out what her results were: She got a 1!!!  Highest mark you can get!!  Very exciting.  She performed the same song at regionals and we previously posted the video here:

She will be performing too throughout the summer and we will post dates soon.
